Job description:
DanceBUG is seeking skilled Sports (Dance) Photographers for a contract position from February to June 2025, requiring nationwide travel across the United States. As an industry leader in Dance Media and Software, DanceBUG has been serving the dance community for nearly 25 years, providing innovative solutions such as the “Video Judge” and a comprehensive suite of tools for Registration, Scheduling, Tabulation, and Streaming.

In this role, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images of dynamic dance performances, while also managing data effectively. Your duties will include:

– Capturing well-composed images of dancers and adjusting camera settings to ensure optimal results.
– Utilizing custom software on a provided laptop to manage data efficiently.
– Uploading and/or shipping data as necessary.
– Coordinating with your assigned Coach, Managers, and Onsite Contacts.
– Traveling to events nationwide as scheduled.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

– A minimum of 5 years of professional photography experience.
– Proficiency in photographing dance, live-action, sports, concerts, or theatre.
– Experience working in low-light environments.
– The ability to adjust camera settings (such as exposure, white balance, ISO) quickly.
– Competence in managing data during production hours.
– A valid U.S. driver’s license.
– Successful completion of a Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector check.
– Availability to travel on Thursdays and Mondays, with work expected from Friday to Sunday.

Equipment requirements include:

– Two professional-level DSLR camera bodies (mirrorless preferred).
– Two compatible lenses (F2.8 or F4.0), such as 24-70mm, 24-105mm, 24-120mm, or 70-200mm.
– Additional necessary equipment: two or more camera batteries with a charger, a monopod, and a minimum of four memory cards with 64GB storage capacity.
