We are actively seeking a seasoned Senior Cloud Engineer to become a vital member of our global cloud team. In this capacity, you will take on the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing cloud-based platforms and solutions for our diverse clientele. The base salary range for this position is projected to be between $100,500 and $147,400 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be influenced by several factors, including work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, operate, and continuously enhance the KION Azure Cloud Environment to ensure system availability and service reliability.
- Configure and troubleshoot Azure Compute instances, Azure Backup, Azure Storage Monitor, Snapshots, Azure Storage, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Manage cloud resource costs and expenditures using both Microsoft and third-party tools.
- Create and maintain scripts using PowerShell and Terraform.
- Conduct in-depth monitoring and analysis of failures across IT services, servers, and containers, implementing effective resolutions.
- Provide support to product teams through expertise in cloud services.
- Initiate and lead self-directed projects to enhance operational efficiency.
- Administer and upgrade Windows and Linux server systems.
- Cultivate technical expertise in Google Cloud Platform to become a Subject Matter Expert in both Azure and Google Cloud platforms over the long term.
- Address complex projects under time-sensitive conditions.
- Optimize virtual machine configurations for cost, performance, and security.
- Establish change control protocols for cloud resources.
- Monitor and respond to customer requests.

Qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience with infrastructure and services in both public and private cloud environments, with Azure experience required and GCP experience considered a plus.
- Proficient in managing Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Familiar with CI/CD tools and deployment processes (e.g., Ansible, Azure DevOps Pipelines).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and various cloud delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Proficient in shell scripting (PowerShell, CLI, or Bash) and contemporary cloud automation technologies.
- Experience with monitoring or log aggregation tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Azure Monitor) is advantageous.
