The Cybersecurity group at KLA plays a vital role in all aspects of our global operations. This team is dedicated to defending against cyber threats, providing sophisticated cybersecurity tools, incident response services, and assessment capabilities that protect the essential environments supporting KLA’s operations. Our commitment lies in identifying adversarial activities and anticipating diverse threats to enhance our defenses and safeguard KLA’s Intellectual Property.

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to advance our endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms and ensure that new initiatives align with our Cybersecurity requirements. The selected candidate will collaborate with the broader Cybersecurity organization on various initiatives aimed at enhancing KLA’s overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the management of EDR platforms to guarantee compliance with cybersecurity requirements while ensuring minimal impact on endpoint performance.
  • Conduct system reviews to verify that optimal configurations are maintained.
  • Collaborate with IT to perform tests and identify necessary policy exceptions that minimize security risks.
  • Execute tests to ensure the efficacy of automated response mechanisms.
  • Continuously assess response processes for opportunities for improvement.
  • Engage regularly with users to understand their needs and the impacts of security tools on their workflows.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience managing modern EDR/XDR systems in a complex, global environment.
  • Pursuit of or completion of cybersecurity-related certifications such as GCIA, GCDA, GPEN, OSCP, or equivalents.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt quickly to change, and handle high ticket volumes.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability information sources, including alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins.

This is a hybrid role based at our Midwest headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Cybersecurity, IT Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity or IT organizations.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in Systems Administration, Endpoint Administration, or a related domain.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical infrastructure (full technology stack), networking, and operating systems.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting logs from both Windows and Linux systems (e.g., Windows Event Logs, journald/dmesg, etc.).

Compensation:
Base pay range: $88,900.00 – $151,100.00 Annually.
