A Day in the Life

As a Therapy Support Specialist at Medtronic, you will play a vital role in supporting the Interstim Therapy groups, focusing on surgical coverage, follow-up support, troubleshooting, customer service, and education within your designated territory. Depending on the specific needs of your area, you may also engage in basic market development activities.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Serving as a representative for Medtronic Neuromodulation during surgical procedures and implantations by providing all essential equipment and products. You will demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of implant procedures, follow-up support, and troubleshooting techniques, which may include device selection, programming, and testing of all device systems.

• Keeping abreast of the latest developments regarding assigned products and services, as well as maintaining knowledge of competitive products.

• Proactively identifying the needs of both new and existing accounts, while educating a broader array of caregivers and account personnel.

• Conducting education and training sessions for physicians, hospital staff, and office personnel regarding technical aspects related to our products and therapies. This will occur through one-on-one sessions, in-service education programs, seminars, and external symposiums.

• Collaborating with the district manager and in-house training department to facilitate the education and training of new team members in the district, including therapy consultants, clinical specialists, and field clinical engineers.

• Providing sales support during or following procedures by completing necessary documentation, such as implant registrations, temporary ID cards, and packing lists. You will also be responsible for executing invoices in various scenarios and placing orders with customer service for pending purchase orders and product replacements.

• Maintaining effective communication with all district personnel, customers, and other Medtronic employees.

• Contributing to the achievement of milestones associated with specific projects at the regional and/or national level.

• Understanding and adhering to all applicable quality policies and systems while following work and quality procedures to ensure compliance and deliver high-quality work.

• Performing any related activities as assigned.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of patient care/clinical experience; or
• Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of patient care/clinical experience; or
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of patient care/clinical experience.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
• Knowledge and clinical skill (e.g., ability to conduct a simple trial, implant, and/or refill a pump).
• Clinical experience with implantable neuromodulation products and stimulation experience.
• Experience in supporting medical personnel on product usage.
• Experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical company, with clinical experience in specialty areas such as urology, surgical, RN, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, operating room, or home healthcare.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with sales and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to mentor others on product usage and clinical applications.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preference will be given to local qualified candidates and those with Medtronic experience. A valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy are required. Your driving record will be reviewed as part of the application process; the role entails driving approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory, which may involve overnight travel.
