Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a welcoming environment for customers, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated by effectively addressing inquiries related to products in the department and throughout the store.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of products offered within the department, enabling effective responses to customer questions and appropriate product recommendations.
  • Collaborate with team members to promote teamwork, achieving company and store objectives.
  • Prepare beverage selections according to established recipes and standards, catering to customer requests using the appropriate equipment; process transactions following company best practices.
  • Provide product samples to help customers explore new items and inform them about current coffee shop offerings.
  • Ensure customers receive fresh, accurately portioned products that align with their orders to minimize shrinkage.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to customers, ensuring they acquire the products they desire.
  • Efficiently utilize all coffee shop equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens, adhering to company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and manage inventory of ingredients and merchandise.
  • Regularly check product quality to guarantee freshness; monitor sell-by dates and take necessary actions.
  • Skillfully operate kitchen equipment such as the espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
  • Participate in labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
  • Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
  • Uphold safety protocols by following established procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and alerting store management; comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Engage in preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting any repair needs to the relevant department or store manager.
  • Notify management of any customer or employee accidents, and report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activities, including potential theft or fraud, to store management.
