Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a welcoming environment by addressing customer inquiries regarding products available in the department and throughout the store.
  • Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of products within the department to effectively respond to customer questions and make informed suggestions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote teamwork in achieving company and store objectives.
  • Prepare beverage selections according to recipes and standards, aligning with customer requests and utilizing proper equipment; process transactions following company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to assist customers in discovering new items, as well as informing them of coffee shop specials.
  • Ensure customers receive fresh products they have ordered, while providing accurate portion sizes to minimize shrinkage.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to customers to guarantee they find the products they desire.
  • Operate all coffee shop equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens, in accordance with company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and manage inventory of ingredients and merchandise.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing sell-by dates and taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Properly utilize kitchen equipment such as espresso machines, blenders, computerized scales, and steamers.
  • Organize, label, and maintain inventory of department merchandise.
  • Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
  • Remain informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special advertisements.
  • Support safety initiatives by complying with safety protocols, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Engage in preventive maintenance through regular inspection of equipment, notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any repairs required.
  • Promptly inform management of customer or employee accidents; report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activities, including theft or fraud, to store management.
