Responsibilities:
– Foster trust and respect among associates.
– Cultivate an environment that makes customers feel welcome, valued, and appreciated by effectively responding to their inquiries about products offered in the department and throughout the store.
– Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of products in the department to adeptly address customer questions and provide informed recommendations.
– Advise customers on grocery items to ensure they secure the products they desire and need; keep them informed of any grocery specials.
– Conduct product quality checks to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take necessary actions.
– Label, stock, and manage inventory of department merchandise, ensuring customers receive fresh products they have ordered.
– Communicate any product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
– Maintain a positive demeanor at all times.
– Stay informed about current, forthcoming, seasonal, and special advertisements.
– Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
– Ensure that appropriate temperatures in cases and coolers are consistently maintained, along with proper documentation of temperature logs.
– Reinforce safety programs by adhering to safety procedures and identifying any unsafe conditions, reporting them to store management.
– Engage in preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the respective department or store manager of items requiring repair.
– Inform management of any customer or employee accidents.
