Job description:

As a Support Service Technician at Rehab and Nursing Leffingwell, you will have a valuable opportunity to enhance patient care by delivering essential services within Nutrition Services and Environmental Services. This multifaceted role engages you in a variety of responsibilities, playing a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for both patients and staff, while also addressing the nutritional requirements that are essential for patient recovery and well-being. Essential Functions:

  • This position requires work across three Continuing Care Facilities located at 1001 Leffingwell Ave., 1226 Cedar St NE, and 4118 Kalamazoo Ave. SE in Grand Rapids.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness by performing thorough cleaning and disinfecting tasks across various departments.
  • Promptly remove medical waste, trash, and linens to uphold the health and safety standards of the hospital environment.
  • Contribute to the hospital’s overall appearance through interim and restorative maintenance of hard floors, carpets, and upholstery, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals as part of the Nutrition Services team, supporting patient health and recovery.
  • Execute a variety of routine tasks within the Nutrition Services department, adhering to established practices and procedures to meet patient nutritional needs.
  • Promote a culture of safety and care by complying with hospital protocols and standards in Environmental Services.
  • Facilitate seamless hospital operations by efficiently managing supplies and equipment essential for patient care and facility maintenance.
  • Engage meaningfully with patients by providing supportive services that enhance their overall experience.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team to deliver exceptional care and service across multiple departments.
