Job description:
Provide engineering and project management support to Department of Defense (DoD) program offices that oversee the development and integration of C4ISR technologies onto military ground vehicle platforms.
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with various project management offices, including vehicle platform offices and C5ISR system offices, to evaluate and synchronize program acquisition schedules, integration costs, and other requirements pertaining to Army and Marine Corps network development.
- Develop proposed high-level architectures and strategies for implementing C5ISR systems onto ground vehicles.
- Author contractual Statements of Work (SoW) to clearly define vehicle system integration efforts, representing the DoD vehicle Program Management office by overseeing and managing contractor execution of the SoW.
- Assist in resolving programmatic issues for the ground vehicle office.
- Act as a liaison for our DoD customer, coordinating and interacting with Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Project Managers (PMs), ASN(RDA) G-3/5/7, MCTSSA, CD&I ATEC, TCM, and other organizations outside the ground vehicle office to ensure end-to-end program integration of the communications network, including interoperability testing and certification, safety confirmation, test, kit procurement, and logistics integration.
- Develop and synchronize network architectures with Project Management offices for future network capability sets.
- Contribute to the development and presentation of regular status briefs to Project Manager Offices and Program Executive Offices.
- Execute project management duties and generate related documentation to support these efforts.
- Establish and facilitate a standard approach to Cyber Security certification of systems on ground vehicle platforms to minimize platform IA certification and testing burdens.
- Serve as an advisor to the program office for the integration of current and future DoD communications and network technologies.
- Manage and oversee contractor development of vehicle networks while assisting with the integration of Government-furnished systems.
Required Skills:
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, accompanied by a minimum of five years of experience in engineering networked vehicle systems.
- Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD Secret clearance.
- Proven experience in network architecture development and project management.
- A self-starter capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively within a team context to direct and contribute to vehicle system integration and development efforts.
- Ability to consistently deliver high-quality support and customer service to the Government customer in a high-visibility role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal qualities, including the ability to tactfully negotiate resolutions to competing programmatic demands.
- A robust customer service mentality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Experience working with user representatives and formal DoD requirements documents to define system development or integration requirements.
- Willingness to travel to various customer and contractor facilities and test centers, estimated at approximately 10% travel.
- While this position is located at a client site, there is a potential for regular telework. Candidates must be prepared to fulfill this role on-site 100% if necessary in the future.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of C5ISR, Vetronics, and related software on DoD ground combat vehicles.
- Electrical, computer, and/or systems engineering experience related to DoD ground combat vehicles and/or C5ISR systems.
- Familiarity with organizations such as MCTSSA, PEO LS, MCSC, or similar Army entities; GVSC, PEO CS&CSS, PEO C3T, and/or related PM offices within the Army Materiel Command.
- Understanding of the DoD acquisition process.
- Experience with in-vehicle data networks and U.S. DoD communications equipment.
