SUMMARY
The Repair Technician is responsible for conducting basic inspections, diagnostic assessments, and mechanical services for automobiles and light trucks. This role emphasizes excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with safety regulations during the operation of machinery, equipment, and tools. Additionally, the technician will manage inventory and assist in facility upkeep.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Utilize tire balancers and machines to mount and balance tires, repair flats, perform tire rotations, and conduct diagnostic tests for tire wear and vibration.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of tire lines to manage inventory functions, procedures, stock inquiries, and shipping/receiving activities.
• Conduct light oil and filter changes (LOF) and visual inspections, including under the hood, under the vehicle, and wheel-off assessments.
• Perform basic removal and replacement tasks such as battery installations, filter changes, wiper blade replacements, headlamp installations, and small bulb replacements.
• Execute alignments and flush cooling systems, power steering, and transmissions using the appropriate equipment.
• Carry out basic diagnostic evaluations, including identifying noise or vibration issues after road testing.
• Support facility maintenance by adhering to opening and closing procedures and performing general upkeep tasks.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS
Safely and effectively operate tire machines, balancers, lubrication equipment, flat repair tools, lifts, impact guns, torque wrenches, tread depth gauges, grinders/wire wheels, micrometers, flush machines, torches, alignment racks, and other equipment necessary for the Tire & Alignment Technician role.

QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The following are the minimum training requirements:

• Automotive and/or tire knowledge and skills
• Automotive maintenance, removal and replacement knowledge and skills
• Basic automotive diagnostic skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Competency in writing routine reports and correspondence is also required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS and REASONING ABILITY
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and solve practical problems with minimal standardization. Proficiency in interpreting various instructions presented in written, oral, or diagrammatic formats is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
