SUMMARY
The Repair Technician is responsible for conducting basic inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical services for automobiles and light trucks. This position emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service while strictly adhering to safety regulations when using machinery, equipment, and tools. Additionally, the Repair Technician will manage inventory, requisition stock and supplies, and support facility maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operates tire balancing and mounting machines, repairs flat tires, performs tire rotations, and conducts diagnostic tests to assess tire wear and vibrations.
• Maintains knowledge of tire products to effectively manage inventory, tire procedures, stock inquiries, and shipping and receiving tasks.
• Conducts Lube, Oil, and Filter (LOF) changes and performs visual inspections, including under the hood, under the vehicle, and wheel-off checks.
• Executes basic removal and replacement tasks, including battery and filter installations, wiper blade, headlamp, and small bulb replacements.
• Completes alignments and cooling system flushes using appropriate equipment.
• Carries out basic diagnostics, including identifying noise or vibration issues following road tests.
• Assists in maintaining facility cleanliness and organization by adhering to opening and closing procedures and performing general maintenance tasks.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS
Safe and effective operation of the following equipment is required: tire machines, balancers, lubrication equipment, flat repair tools, lifts, impact guns, torque wrenches, tread depth gauges, grinders/wire wheels, micrometers, flush machines, torches, alignment racks, and all tools necessary for the Tire & Alignment Technician role.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum training requirements include:

• Basic automotive services
• Understanding of starting and charging systems

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence is also required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS and REASONING ABILITY
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, solve practical problems, and interpret a variety of instructions presented in different formats.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
