We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our Business Continuity team as a Traveling Supply Chain Operations Specialist, based in Novi, MI, within our Supply Chain Solutions division. This position involves significant travel to GM site locations throughout the Midwest, encompassing approximately 90% of your working hours. Candidates must be fully mobile and prepared for the demands of frequent travel.

Key Responsibilities:
– Communicate daily operational goals and strategies to ensure the success of the facility and assigned workgroups.
– Assist in the training and development of staff, including hourly employees and specialists.
– Lead comprehensive training initiatives, continuously assessing employee comprehension of policies, procedures, and processes.
– Make informed decisions regarding operational activities, including demand planning, supplier engagement, and troubleshooting of specialized processes.
– Contribute to the development of systems and process training for team members, performing necessary administrative functions to support location activities.
– Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, implementing continuous improvement and LEAN methodologies to enhance team cohesion and productivity.

Additional Responsibilities:
– Serve as a versatile resource, supporting all Supply Chain Operations Associate roles across various shifts as needed.
– Undertake other duties as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
– Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, effectively engaging with colleagues at all levels.
– Strong organizational abilities, with proficient follow-up and computer skills.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, fostering individual performance and positive employee relations.
– Capacity to exercise sound judgment in situations with incomplete or ambiguous information.
– Intermediate skills in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) are required, while OSHA knowledge is a necessity. DOT and Hazmat knowledge may also be preferred, depending on account specifics.
– High school diploma or GED is required.
– A minimum of one year of experience in logistics, warehousing, or a related field is essential. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
