Job description:
What you’ll do:

You will lead and develop teams by effectively teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. This includes conducting store tours to provide constructive feedback, engaging in open communication and collaboration with associates at all levels regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and overall company direction. You will be responsible for introducing and leading change initiatives, setting clear expectations, and guiding the implementation of business solutions while effectively communicating business objectives to your teams.

You will model and exemplify exceptional customer service standards for store associates by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model and managing customer service initiatives, including community outreach programs. This involves ensuring that customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved successfully, developing and executing action plans to address deficiencies, and providing leadership in process improvement to enhance the customer experience.

Additionally, you will drive financial performance and sales within your designated area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and controlling expenses in alignment with sales goals. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring merchandise presentation, managing inventory flow, overseeing seasonal transitions, and implementing action plans to mitigate shrinkage while achieving sales and profit targets.

You will supervise and create development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring staff, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing individual contributions, and ensuring diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Additionally, you will maintain relationships with key stakeholders, support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identify and communicate goals, and promote accountability in achieving results.

You are expected to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting our mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and leveraging the Open Door Policy to guide business practices.

Leadership Expectations:

You will respect the individual by building high-performing, diverse teams, embracing differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences. You will create a workplace where associates feel recognized and valued, fostering a culture of belonging with equitable opportunities for all.

You will work collaboratively, building strong, trusting relationships and communicating effectively to motivate and influence your team. Attracting and retaining a diverse talent pool while empowering and developing team members will be a key focus, along with recognizing the contributions and accomplishments of others.

You will act with integrity by promoting the highest standards of ethics and compliance, modeling Walmart’s values and holding yourself and others accountable to foster a culture of sustainability and positive impacts for associates, customers, and the broader community.

In service to our customers and members, you will prioritize their needs and adapt to their shopping behaviors while leveraging our Everyday Low Price (EDLP) and Everyday Low Cost (EDLC) business models in all plans. Your decision-making will be data-driven, balancing short- and long-term priorities while considering the broader impact of your choices on customers, associates, shareholders, business partners, and the community.

You will strive for excellence by exhibiting curiosity and a desire for continuous learning, taking calculated risks, and demonstrating resilience. Encouraging innovation and the adoption of new technologies will be essential to support others in navigating change.

At Walmart, we offer competitive compensation along with performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of our associates. This includes medical, vision, and dental coverage, as well as financial benefits such as a 401(k), stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off encompasses various leave options, and other benefits include disability coverage, company discounts, and reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses.

You will also receive paid time off (PTO) and/or protected paid time off (PPTO) for a range of purposes, with the amount provided based on your job classification and length of service, aligning with applicable paid sick leave laws.

Our Live Better U education benefit program provides full-time and part-time associates opportunities to pursue educational goals, from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, with all tuition, books, and fees covered by Walmart, subject to eligibility requirements.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $80,000.00, plus differentials to meet legislative requirements, where applicable. Additional compensation may include performance bonuses and rates that account for regional pay zones, facility sales volumes, and complex structures based on external challenges.

Minimum qualifications include two years of college education, or one year of retail experience coupled with one year of supervisory experience; or two years of general work experience alongside one year of supervisory experience. For facilities handling firearms, successful completion of specific background checks and training is required. Additionally, all associates must complete job-required trainings and assessments.
