Job description:

As a Produce Department Lead, you will be instrumental in driving sales within your area while overseeing a team of hourly associates dedicated to delivering exceptional value to our members. You will exemplify expertise in the Produce department and collaborate effectively with fellow team leaders to ensure that our club consistently meets members’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise the Produce and Floral teams to achieve business objectives and contribute to the overall success of the club. Clearly communicate departmental goals, execute company programs, adhere to policies, and advocate for our members, associates, and the company. Work closely with other team leaders to ensure a cohesive member experience across the club.

  • Expert Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of both front-end and backroom operations to ensure adherence to company standards concerning quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance. Manage the seasonal demands related to item volume and product knowledge while effectively prioritizing tasks across areas. Collaborate with associates to ensure they are equipped with the necessary resources and knowledge for success.

  • Technology Utilization: Leverage digital tools to enhance sales performance, improve the shopping experience, and foster associate engagement. Utilize handheld technology to make real-time business decisions regarding production, training, and product quality while promoting the adoption of new tools among team members.

  • Ownership of Operations: Drive business results with a commitment to operational excellence. Plan for profitability while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment for both team members and members alike. Ensure adequate staffing levels, uphold audit and compliance standards, and display merchandise according to company layout plans while modeling an unwavering commitment to member service.

  • Talent Development: Mentor and train associates to enhance team effectiveness. Identify potential in team members and equip them with the skills necessary to deliver high-quality products. Support career advancement opportunities for all associates and actively seek new talent to join the team.

  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with management, coworkers, customers, and business partners to develop and implement processes that address business needs. Analyze and apply information from various sources, monitor progress and results, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
