Job description:
The Valet/Bellman position is integral to delivering exceptional service through the safe and efficient management of guest vehicles and luggage. In this role, you will be responsible for parking vehicles and assisting guests with their luggage, while consistently upholding the resort’s AAA Four Diamond and Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service Standards.” As a critical first and last point of contact for many guests, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and lasting impression of our resort. Your outstanding valet and bellman services will significantly enhance the overall guest experience, fostering satisfaction and loyalty.

In this Role:
- Document any existing damage on guest vehicles prior to accepting and parking them.
- Efficiently park guest vehicles in designated areas.
- Securely lock guest vehicles and manage key storage.
- Maintain a clear driveway for incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Promptly return vehicles to guests in their original condition.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment for both guests and Team Members.
- Proficiently operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, providing luggage assistance.
- Transport guest luggage to and from their rooms with efficiency and care.
- Inform guests about the resort’s amenities, services, and local attractions.
- Address guest inquiries and provide necessary directions.
- Collaborate with the front desk and other departments to meet guest requests promptly.
- Handle guest luggage safely and ensure correct delivery to rooms.
- Maintain an organized and secure luggage storage area.
- Assist guests with luggage storage before check-in and after check-out.
- Consistently practice and promote the resort’s AAA Four Diamond and Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service Standards.”
- Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Uphold high standards of personal grooming and uniform presentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management in response to business needs.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Previous experience as a hotel Bellman and/or Valet Parking Attendant is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license from the state of Michigan with a clean driving record is essential.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with guests, Team Members, and management, both verbally and in writing.
- Neat and legible handwriting is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to engage in extensive jogging, walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without assistance.
- Manual dexterity to operate foot and hand controls.
- Requires normal, corrected vision range, with the capacity to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
Work Conditions:
Work is conducted outdoors with continuous exposure to varying temperatures, sunlight, wet surfaces, noise levels, and potential second-hand smoke. Team Members may need to stand, walk, jog, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp, sometimes in confined areas. Tasks may also involve working with trained chemical substances.
