Job description:
The Volunteer and Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive volunteer program at Adaptive Sports Connection, ensuring a seamless and rewarding experience for all volunteers. This role entails implementing the Volunteer Journey Map, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, and advocacy. Additionally, the individual will lead the logistics and coordination of events, delivering impactful experiences for both participants and supporters. The Volunteer and Events Manager will collaborate closely with leadership, staff, and community partners to enhance volunteer involvement, ensuring that their contributions align with the organization’s mission and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Awareness & Recruitment
- Develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns leveraging social media, newsletters, and community outreach to attract prospective volunteers.
- Cultivate relationships with schools, universities, corporations, and community organizations to build a diverse and engaged volunteer base.
- Ensure the VolunteerHub management platform is prominently featured on the website, with clear calls to action for sign-ups.
- Create engaging recruitment materials, including testimonials, videos, and FAQs that highlight volunteer opportunities.
Sign-Up & Onboarding
- Oversee the VolunteerHub registration process, ensuring a user-friendly experience for new volunteers.
- Develop an engaging onboarding program, incorporating orientation sessions (both virtual and in-person) to introduce volunteers to the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Provide a Volunteer Handbook that outlines expectations, safety protocols, and the rewards program.
- Organize role-specific training to equip volunteers with the necessary skills required for working with participants or managing adaptive equipment.
Engagement & Communication
- Maintain consistent communication with volunteers through monthly newsletters, automated reminders, and social media groups.
- Utilize VolunteerHub for scheduling, updates, and requests for post-event feedback.
