Job Description
Job Title: WAITER/WAITRESS (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)
Company: Compass Group
Location: Cleveland, OH
Pay: $11.8 per hour
AI Pay Analysis: An hourly rate of $11.80 for a waiter or waitress in Cleveland, OH, is generally below the industry standard for this role, particularly considering that many states and localities have minimum wage laws that influence earnings. As of 2023, the minimum wage in Ohio is $10.10 per hour, but this can be lower than the average pay range for waitstaff, which often includes tips that can significantly increase overall earnings. Many waiters and waitresses in urban areas like Cleveland earn between $12 to $15 per hour or more, inclusive of tips. Additionally, the cost of living in the Cleveland area further underscores the need for a competitive wage to attract talent, making this rate less appealing in the current labor market. Thus, while this rate may be competitive in certain low-cost regions or entry-level positions, it may not adequately reflect the expectations or living standards for waitstaff in Cleveland.
