Job description:

Shift: Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 PM until completion.
Pay Rate: $21.36 per hour (inclusive of shift differential).

Overview of Warehouse Operations at Cardinal Health:
The Operations team is responsible for the handling and distribution of materials in both distribution and manufacturing settings. This includes warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, inventory management, as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.

Job Summary:
As an Associate II in Warehouse Operations, you will assist with inbound and outbound activities as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, productivity, and operational standards. Responsibilities in the inbound section involve receiving products, while the outbound section focuses on shipping products.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and remain standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort with working at heights of 20-30 feet on a regular basis.
  • Previous experience with material handling equipment (PIT) is preferred.
  • Experience with radio frequency (RF) scanners and/or voice picking technology is highly desired.
  • Must be willing to work overtime with little to no notice.
  • Openness to learning how to operate material handling equipment and rotating through various warehouse areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processing orders, which includes accurate picking, quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing orders for shipment.
  • Follow directions and adapt to changing priorities while working independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Utilize material handling equipment to pick large case items or small unit items and place them on designated carts.
  • Participate in cross-training across multiple warehouse functions and contribute to special projects as needed.
  • Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in and dispatch products as required.
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed, including order pickers (cherry pickers), forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the work environment, completing housekeeping and inventory control tasks.
  • Engage in routine assignments requiring problem-solving.
  • Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.
  • Follow site safety regulations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed safety shoes and safety harnesses for material handling equipment. Adhere to Cardinal Health’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and Quality Risk Assessment (QRA) procedures.
