Job description:

KBS is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated General Warehouse Associates (Corrugate Recycler) to join our team for immediate full-time, permanent positions in Romulus, MI. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fulfilling customer needs and surpassing expectations by efficiently handling the pick-up and removal of Corrugate Gondolas throughout the facility.

Job Overview
Pay Rate: Up to $16.00/hour
As a vital member of the KBS team, you will provide essential cleaning and janitorial services within large fulfillment centers. Your work schedule will be either Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Sunday, with shifts available in the following time frames:

  • Days: 5 AM to 4 PM
  • Nights: 5 PM to 4 AM
    Note that you will be required to work one weekend day.

Key Responsibilities:
As a General Warehouse Associate (Corrugate Recycler), you will be responsible for the following tasks within your designated work areas as assigned at the start of each shift:

  • Operate a manual pallet jack to collect full gondolas (large trash containers) and replace them with empty gondolas in designated areas.
  • Transport and deposit full corrugate gondolas into the baler or compactors located in specific sections of the warehouse (training will be provided).
  • Maintain cleanliness around all gondolas by keeping areas free of debris and trash.
  • Dust, mop, and sweep around trash receptacles to ensure clear traffic pathways.
  • Ensure that traffic areas (designated as “Green Mile” walking paths) remain clear of debris at all times for safety.
  • Keep Auger/Baler/Compactor areas tidy and organized.
  • Perform additional janitorial duties as required.

Requirements:
Candidates for the General Warehouse Associate / Corrugate Recycler positions must meet the following criteria:

  • Ability to use a manual pallet jack to lift and transport gondolas weighing up to 75+ pounds.
  • Capacity to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly engage in bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above head level.
  • Ability to push and pull manual pallet jacks consistently loaded with trash or cardboard.
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility is required during the entire shift.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Background check and drug test are mandatory.
