Job Overview
The Automation Lead will support and facilitate case-picking and sorting operations within their designated area of the automated warehouse, utilizing computer systems, software, and advanced machinery. This role involves proactively monitoring incoming orders, directing and assigning teammates to ensure smooth operations, and providing performance-based feedback. The Automation Lead will also be involved in interviewing prospective candidates, assisting with various responsibilities as designated by the Warehouse Manager, and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and company policies while operating effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate VPS Vertique Picking and loading software within the automation environment with a high level of proficiency
  • Ensure the proper functioning of machinery through advanced problem-solving skills, including data manipulation and basic troubleshooting of powered conveyors
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of package dimensions, descriptions, and SKU numbers
  • Direct floor operations to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Participate in regular housekeeping duties both within the machines and throughout the warehouse
  • Assist in the interview process for potential candidates
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to walk and repetitively lift weights ranging from 30 to 75 lbs
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
  • Skills in coordinating and organizing effective and reliable warehouse processes
  • Flexibility to transition between different work areas as needed throughout the day, consistently meeting minimum performance standards
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions presented on a computer screen
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to differentiate between our packages
  • Ability to operate effectively in a noisy, non-climate-controlled environment, including temperature extremes

  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as work hours may change based on operational demands

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an automated environment is highly preferred.

  • The work environment can be noisy and non-temperature-controlled, with exposure to both high and low-temperature conditions.
