Job description:
We are seeking qualified candidates for a position that offers the opportunity to perform essential work in supporting America’s food distribution system. The average compensation for this role is up to $30.00 per hour based on productivity. This position follows a Sunday to Thursday schedule, commencing at 5 PM and continuing until all tasks are completed.

Position Summary:
The role involves selecting cases and containers of both food and non-food products to fulfill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems. Responsibilities include placing items onto pallets and transporting completed orders to the loading dock staging area using an electric pallet jack or forklift. All processes must comply with safety regulations and quality standards while ensuring an efficient production workflow. This position requires teamwork and may involve various assigned duties to best meet company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to preferred work methods, safety policies, and procedures in accordance with company guidelines. Promptly report any unsafe conditions or actions.
- Review the work schedule and acquire necessary supplies for operations. Conduct safety checks on the pallet jack or forklift and ensure all safety devices are operational. Properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
- Meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks as stipulated by location and company guidelines.
- Efficiently operate a pallet jack to retrieve products from designated multi-level racks per order requirements.
- Manually load designated stock items onto pallets from pick slots and racks as needed, utilizing single and/or double pallets as directed.
- Transport completed customer orders to the shipping dock staging area, including the potential requirement to shrink-wrap pallets.
- Manage battery operations for electric pallet jacks, including recharging and completing vehicle inspection checklists. Secure all equipment and finish all necessary paperwork at the close of shifts.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to consistently work the assigned schedule and any required overtime.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Capacity to lift, stack, and/or pull products weighing between 10-35 pounds, with occasional lifting of items up to approximately 60-90 pounds, based on location.
- Comfortable working in multi-temperature environments, including cooler, freezer, and dry settings.
- Willingness to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 6 months of warehouse experience within the food service industry.
- Previous experience in selecting, picking, and wrapping products.
- Minimum of 6 months operating a pallet jack.
- Familiarity with scanners and labels preferable.
- Forklift experience is highly desirable.
