Basic Job Functions:
The successful candidate will operate recycling and wastewater/ultrapure water (UPW) processes in accordance with established work instructions. Responsibilities include assisting with the installation and qualification of process equipment, troubleshooting daily operational and equipment issues, and identifying and implementing system improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and performance goals.

Education/Experience:
– A High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
– Candidates must fulfill one of the following criteria:
– At least one year of technical experience at First Solar.
– A minimum of one year of experience in an industrial or commercial operational setting or a technical environment.
– An Associate’s degree in a technical discipline.
– Preferred: Experience in equipment maintenance and process troubleshooting.
– Preferred: Prior industrial wastewater treatment experience.

Required Skills/Competencies:
– A strong safety-first mindset.
– A general understanding of wet chemical processes and chemical compatibilities is essential.
– Basic electrical, electronic, and mechanical knowledge.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving processes.
– Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
– Competence in handling both administrative and technical responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities:
– Achieve a thorough operational understanding of recycling and water treatment systems and equipment.
– Ensure the recycling, wastewater treatment, and ultrapure water generation processes are operating according to the process plan.
– Respond to process control alarms through corrective actions and effective communication.
– Collect and analyze process control data, making necessary adjustments.
– Regularly review process data and implement corrections as needed throughout the shift.
– Troubleshoot and resolve everyday recycling and water treatment issues, escalating significant problems to the engineer and supervisor.
– Conduct standard tests to guarantee proper operation of recycling, wastewater, and ultrapure water systems.
– Perform minor maintenance and repairs, including troubleshooting and replacing pumps.
– Calibrate instrumentation according to ISO work instructions.
– Conduct routine analyses on samples using laboratory equipment.
– Maintain accurate records utilizing databases, spreadsheets, and other computer programs.
– Properly collect, label, and store hazardous waste as per documented instructions.
– Respond to hazardous material spills in accordance with HAZMAT standards.
– Provide training to production associates.
– Develop and update internal documentation, including drawings, standard operating procedures, and process specifications.
– Collaborate with internal associates and supplier representatives to complete assigned projects.
– Maintain effective communication with area associates and engineers.
– Escalate significant repairs to the maintenance department in coordination with the supervisor and engineer.
– Adhere strictly to safety protocols and good housekeeping practices.
– Ensure proper disposal of waste materials in designated containers.
– Maintain a clean, organized work environment in line with 5S standards.
– Operate powered industrial equipment, such as forklifts, for material and chemical transportation.
– Responsible for effective verbal and written shift communications.

Estimated Hourly Range:
– $18.00 – $22.00

U.S. Physical Requirements:
– Ability to sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours daily.
– Occasional climbing of stairs.
– Occasional lifting up to 51 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 37 pounds.
– Occasional pushing or pulling of up to 27 pounds and frequent pushing or pulling of up to 10 pounds.
