As a Wedding and Social Events Sales Manager at the Radisson Kalamazoo, a distinguished venue in Michigan’s event landscape, you will play an integral role in crafting memorable experiences for our clients. We seek an individual who is not only a natural connector but also possesses a fervent dedication to delivering exceptional service.
In this position, you will be responsible for cultivating and sustaining relationships with clients and vendor partners, all while driving revenue through tailored event solutions. Your role encompasses guiding clients through the entire planning process—from initial inquiries and site tours to negotiations and contracting—ensuring that their visions come to life. Once the details are finalized, our skilled Special Events Producer and Sales Coordinator will execute the plans, allowing you to focus on client engagement and relationship management.
Essential Job Duties:
- Sales Generation: Actively promote social event and offsite catering packages through various channels, including inquiries, prospecting, referrals, walk-ins, and networking.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their unique needs, preferences, and budgetary constraints. Offer personalized assistance and recommendations to foster customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Strengthen existing vendor partnerships through consistent communication, site visits, and tailored service to secure repeat referrals.
- Proposal Development: Craft customized proposals and quotes tailored to each client’s specifications, effectively highlighting the features, benefits, and costs of event packages and services.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to finalize contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies, pricing strategies, and service standards.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis: Maintain precise records of sales activities, client interactions, and revenue performance. Generate regular reports and analyses to monitor sales trends, identify growth opportunities, and optimize sales strategies.
- Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the Director of Event Sales and Services and the Greenleaf Hospitality Group Marketing team to create marketing initiatives and collateral for the Wedding Studio.
- Event Support: Provide day-of event support to the Special Events Producer on high-volume, multi-social event days as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of proven sales experience, preferably within the wedding or event industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster rapport and negotiate effectively.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated success in achieving revenue goals and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in response to the demands of the social events business.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Capacity to stand or sit for extended periods and to lift up to 40 lbs.
