Job description:

We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team! Bilingual candidates proficient in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. As a vital member of our staff, you will provide exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a superior "Judgement Free" experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

  • Welcome members and guests, delivering outstanding customer service to ensure a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
  • Answer phone calls warmly and assist with a variety of inquiries.
  • Check in members, conduct tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events effectively.
  • Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Process beverage or merchandise purchases using the point-of-sale system.
  • Utilize the POS system for membership card issuance, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.
  • Perform regular facility upkeep, including cleaning spills under equipment, trash removal, window and mirror cleaning, and re-racking weights.
  • Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are cleaned regularly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adequate supplies in restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Applicants must submit to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage positively and professionally with members and co-workers, exceeding expectations.
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • An upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor is essential.
  • Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification as required by the company and be physically capable of performing CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of moderate weight (up to 50 lbs).
