Job description:

Responsible for providing non-medical, in-home support services that promote the comfort, safety, and general well-being of clients, as well as managing home environments. This role includes offering companionship to individuals who require social interaction and/or minimal guidance to ensure a safe, secure, clean, and organized atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate satisfactory completion of any mandated training.
  • Must successfully complete the Comfort Keepers training and orientation program. Ability to independently function within home settings with minimal supervision and maintain positive relationships with administrative staff, clients, and their families is essential. Essential Functions

  • Execute tasks outlined in the plan of care as assigned.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living by performing Comfort Keepers-approved personal care activities, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and ambulation.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and family members.
  • Carry out light housekeeping tasks, including laundering client garments and linens and changing beds.
  • Support nutritional needs through meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, dishwashing, and kitchen cleanup.
  • Remind clients to self-administer medications as needed.
  • Observe and report any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional health or home situation to the immediate supervisor promptly.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and professional relationships with clients, family members, and colleagues.
  • Participate in in-service training, continuing education sessions, staff meetings, and client conferences as requested by the immediate supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation of services delivered and submit it to the office in accordance with policy in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all client information.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
