As a Team Member, you will play a key role in supporting our commitment to customer service, stocking, and sanitation within your assigned department(s). Responsibilities:

  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Fulfill assigned opening, mid, and closing duties.
  • Follow departmental procedures for the preparation, storage, rotation, and stocking of products.
  • Prepare, package, weigh, and price products for sale.
  • Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring proper rotation.
  • Maintain clean and well-stocked cases and shelves.
  • Complete necessary spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep logs.
  • Aid in periodic inventory checks.
  • Arrive on time to your workstation, appropriately groomed and dressed, ready to work all scheduled shifts and attend required training sessions and meetings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, effectively addressing customer needs and employing suggestive selling techniques; respond promptly and courteously to phone inquiries and pages.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective product preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation standards, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, ensuring equipment meets Whole Foods Market’s cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy of signs and pricing information.
  • Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour workday: standing or walking for 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work may necessitate bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • May also require exposure to various temperatures: below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and/or cold environments.

New entry-level Team Members who successfully complete the initial 90 days of employment and remain actively employed in an eligible role may be eligible for a base rate increase following their 90-day anniversary.
